An Unlucky Night Leaves Watertown Man in Jail

Shortly after 01:30 hours this morning a Massachusetts State Police Cruiser was struck by another vehicle at the intersection of Albany Street and Northampton Street in Boston.

Luckily for all involved there were no injuries to both the troopers and the occupants of the other vehicle. However that was where the good luck ended. The operator of the vehicle that struck the Troopers did not have a valid license and to make matters worse, the plates on his car were not the correct license plates for the vehicle.

Garnett Niles, 28 years old of Watertown, was arrested and transported to the MSP H9 Tunnels Barracks on the following charges; unlicensed operation of motor vehicle, attaching plates, unregistered motor vehicle and impeded operation.

Although the driver seemed to be laughing at first his demeanor quickly changed once he realized he will be spending the night in jail. The passenger was released and both vehicles were towed from the scene.
