At approximately 01:15 hours yesterday morning Boston EMS Ambulance 6, Paramedic 1, Division Lieutenants, Shift Commander and Boston Police Officers assigned to District C-6 responded to the area of Old Colony Ave and Patterson Way in South Boston for the Person Shot.
When officers and EMTs arrived on scene the located a juvenile male, later identified as a 16-year-old male out of Mattapan according to family on scene, shot at least 6 times including in the face. The victim was quickly loaded into the ambulance and Paramedics joined the crew before departing to a local area trauma center with serious life-threatening-injuries.
Simultaneously while EMS was tending to the shot boy, security officer from the Longwood company alerted Boston Police Officers that they had chased a man on a bicycle who fled from the scene. They were able to stop the man successfully and even recovered a firearm for Police Officers.
Due to the severity of the victims injuries, full notifications were made. Detectives from the Homicide Unit, District Detectives, and the Crime Scene Response Unit were all called to the scene.
“When you hear popping sounds, especially late in the evening, you really don’t call 911… You kind of just pause for a moment and wonder if it’s fireworks or a backed-up car. I know it’s a cliche but it actually can be at times.â€

Multiple spent shell casing to be seen strewn throughout the street as well as the victims phone, sweatshirt and blood. After speaking with a neighbor who is familiar with the family, she told us that the boy had recently been relocated to his grandmothers home in hopes it would help him stay out of trouble.
At this time there has been no update or confirmed arrests by Boston Police. The victim is expected to survive his injuries at this time. No further information is available.
