Christmas Eve Homicide Solved by Boston Police within 24 hours

Update as of 15:00 hours December 27th:

Moments ago Boston Police finally confirmed that they did in-fact arrest and charge Steven Anthony Hatfield, 36 years old of East Boston, with Murder in relation to the Maverick Square Christmas Eve stabbing. According to Police records he was charged on Christmas Day, and he is expected to be held and arraigned in East Boston District Court at a later date. Strong work by all involved including the Officers from District A-7, District Detectives, Homicide Unit Detectives and the Crime Scene Response Unit for their dedication and hard work to close this case.

Inicident Baround:

At about 21:07 hours on Thursday December 24, 2020, Boston Police Officers assigned to District A-7 (East Boston) responded to a radio call for a person stabbed in the area of 208 Sumner Street in East Boston. On arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from an apparent stab wound. Boston EMS was quickly requested and arrived. EMTs and Paramedics quickly packaged the victim and he was transported to a local area hospital.

After arriving at the hospital all life saving measures were attempted however they were unsuccessful and was eventually pronounced deceased. Per BPD radio traffic, at least two people were detained and taken into custody however representatives from BPD have yet to confirm if any arrests have occurred.
