Firearm Recovered on W. Broadway in Southie

From the Boston Police:

At about 4:47 AM on Sunday, January 31, 2021, officers assigned to District C-6 (South Boston) responded to a radio call for an investigate person in the area of 141 W Broadway in South Boston. Officers spoke with the victim who stated she was being followed by a black male in his thirties wearing a white shirt, plaid pants and was possibly in possession of a firearm.

As officers approached the area of 141 W Broadway, they observed a motor vehicle double parked with a black male in his 30 years wearing a white shirt and black plaid pants entering the passenger side door of the vehicle.

Officers activated their emergency lights and ordered the male, later identified as Antonio Chatman, 36 of Dorchester out of the motor vehicle. During the pat frisk, officers felt what they believed to be the butt end of a firearm tucked behind Mr. Chatman’s belt buckle. Officers recovered a loaded Hi Point Luger 9mm pistol with eight rounds in the magazine.

Chatman was placed under arrest and was charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Carrying a Dangerous Weapon. He is expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court.
