Franklin Field Shooter Quickly Apprehended by BPD and MSP

Approximately 01:20 hours on Sunday April 4, 2021, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested Theodore Allen, 30, of Dorchester on firearm related charges after responding to a call for shots fired in the area of 66 Stratton Street in the Dorchester Franklin Field Projects.

When officers arrived on scene, eye witnesses gave vehicle descriptions including a white Chevy Sedan. Shell casings were recovered and ballistic evidence was processed accordingly by District Detectives.

Officers located in the Mattapan Square area spotted and radioed a suspect motor vehicle matching the description of the vehicle observed fleeing the area after the incident. This suspect vehicle was subsequently stopped by members of the Massachusetts State Police in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and River Street in Mattapan.

Officers were able to safely remove the suspect, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle at the time of the stop. They recovered a loaded .40 caliber handgun from underneath the driver’s seat. The suspect was then placed in custody without incident.

The suspect will appear in Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, and Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device.
