Discarded Loaded Gun Recovered by BPD In Dorchester

Wednesday night, at approximately 21:00 hours, Boston Police Officers assigned to District B-3 recovered a loaded firearm after receiving a call for a person with a gun in the area of Westview Street and Stratton Street in Dorchester.

Officers canvased the area, eventually locating a discarded loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun with 16 rounds of ammunition, pictured below.

The weapon was turned over to the Boston Police Department Firearms Analysis Unit for processing while the investigation continues. No further information is available at this time.
