On arrival, officers located an adult male victim who stated he had been involved in an altercation with two individuals, later identified as Igor Caldiera, 24, of Hyannis and Euddyvandro Castro, 21, of Hyannis. The victim stated he was walking in the garage when the two men approached and attempted to fight him. When the victim refused to engage, Castro instructed Caldiera to retrieve a firearm from inside a nearby parked motor vehicle. After a few tense moments, the two suspects walked away from the victim without further incident.

Responding officers then observed the two suspects attempting to leave the garage in a white pick-up truck at which time they stopped the vehicle and placed both suspects in custody. BPD K-9 Cedric and his handler then located and recovered a Stoeger STR-9 handgun loaded with ten rounds of ammunition from inside the glovebox.

Both suspects will appear in Boston Municipal Court for arraignment. Igor Caldiera will be charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon. Euddyvandro Castro will be charged with Assault and Battery, Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon and Improper Storage of a Firearm.
