On Sunday November 21, 2021 at around 03:20 hours, Boston Police, Boston Fire, Boston EMS, and the Massachusetts State Police responded to reports of a serious motor vehicle accident inside the Sumner Tunnel toward Storrow Drive.
Two occupants were deemed to be in critical condition, after being pinned in the vehicle and needing extrication. The passengers were identified by authorities as an 18-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man. They were transported by Boston EMS to area hospitals with serious injuries.
The 24 year old driver, whom was from Northampton, was pronounced dead at the scene. No further information is available at this time, and the accident remains under investigation.
