Fast Response to 911 Call Leads to Arrest in Hyde Park

At about 7:33 pm on Monday, January 17, 2022, Officers assigned to District E-18 (Hyde Park/Roslindale) responded to a radio call for an Armed Robbery and made an onsite arrest in the area of 631 Hyde Park Avenue of Derek Moon, 34, of Boston.

Officers were on patrol when a victim approached them and advised them that they had just been robbed at gunpoint. Officers were further advised that the suspect, later identified as Moon, was running in the area of Hyde Park Avenue. Officers provided responding units with this information and were able to locate Moon in the area of 631 Hyde Park Avenue. Officers were able to place Moon in custody without incident.

Officers recovered the stolen property from his person but were unable to locate a firearm. Derek Moon is to be charged with Armed Robbery and is expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court.
