At about 2:11 AM on January 31, 202, Officers assigned to District B-2 made an on-site arrest in the area of Elm Hill Avenue and Seaver Street of James Givan, 35, of Boston, Ma on firearm-related Offenses.

Officers were on patrol in the above area when they observed a vehicle with dark tint traveling at a high rate of speed. Officers noted that the roadways were still covered in snow and ice from the recent storm, making the vehicle’s speed exceedingly more dangerous. Officers checked the vehicle registration and determined that the vehicle’s registration status was revoked. Officers conducted a traffic stop and requested Givan step out of the vehicle, to which he initially refused but later complied. Officers observed a fanny-style backpack strapped to Givan, and when they went to pat-frisk the bag, Givan began to struggle with Officers. Officers were eventually able to place Givan into custody and recovered a loaded firearm.

The firearm was determined to be an Armi Tanfoglio Giuseppe GT27 loaded with seven (7) .25 caliber rounds. Givan is to be charged with Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Resisting Arresting, Operating a Motor-Vehicle with Suspended Registration, Speeding, and Excessive Tint. James Givan is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
