Man Shot on MBTA Bus Expected to Survive— Hunt For Shooter Comes Up Empty

On March 21, 2022 at approximately 10:25AM Transit Police officers assigned to the South District responded to the vicinity of Morton and Blue Hill Avenue for a report of a person shot on board an MBTA bus. Upon arrival officers located a 30 year old male suffering from an apparent gun shot wound to his leg.

The victim was transported to a local area hospital for non-life threatening injuries by Boston EMS. Based on early preliminary information it appears the victim and the alleged shooter were engaged in a verbal altercation prior to the incident.

Multiple officers from Transit, Boston State all canvases the area for the shooter however he was not located. The facts and circumstances surrounding the incident is under active investigation. No arrests have made at this time.
