Two Teens Arrested in Connection to Tech Boston Shooting by B-3 Detectives

At about 5:42 PM on Tuesday March 15, 2022, officers assigned to District B-3 responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the area of 9 Peacevale Street at Tech Boston Academy in Dorchester. On arrival, officers located a juvenile male and an adult male suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Both victims were immediately transported to local area hospitals for treatment by Boston EMS. While on scene, officers learned that two unidentified male suspects had fled the area together on a single scooter.

Detectives assigned to District B-3 launched their investigation which led to the identification of the two suspects involved in this brazen shooting:

  • Arrest #1: At about 2:50 PM on Wednesday March 23, 2022, officers located and arrested a 17-year-old male from Lynn following a brief foot pursuit which resulted in the recovery of a loaded 9mm Glock 19 handgun equipped with a laser sight from the suspect at the time of the stop. Following his arrest, officers executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence, leading to the recovery of a .22 caliber handgun equipped with a laser sight.
  • Arrest #2: At about 1:30 PM on Saturday March 26, 2022, a 16-year-old male from Dorchester, surrendered himself to members of the BPD Youth Violence Strike Force in connection to this ongoing investigation and was placed in custody without incident.

The 17-year-old suspect has since been arraigned in Dorchester Juvenile Court on charges of Delinquent to Wit: Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (2 Counts) and Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling

The 16-year-old suspect is expected to appear in Suffolk County Juvenile Court on the same charges.
