Flames Showing at Fifield Street Fire

At approximately 10:30 hours today, Monday April 4, 2022, companies from the Boston Fire Department responded to 28 Fifield Street for reports of a fire.

On arrival, flames were visible from the rear of the building. Residents were quickly evacuated, and a second alarm was called.

The fire appeared to have started on the rear porches, extending from the second and third floors. Crews were ordered off the structure.

The fire remained in second alarm until it was extinguished just before 11:00 hours, as crews remained on scene monitoring potential hot spots. The official all out was called at 12:50 hours, and companies returned to quarters.

Seventeen residents were displaced, and the fire caused over $500,000 in damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
