Gang Unit Arrests 19-Year-Old Repeat Offender From Brockton After Recovering Firearm with Extended Mag During Traffic Stop

At about 8:15 PM on Thursday March 3, 2022, members of the BPD Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Shawn Passley, 19, of Brockton, on firearm related charges following a traffic stop in the area of 108 Lucerne Street in Dorchester.

The officers had stopped a motor vehicle for an equipment violation when they initiated an investigation leading to the recovery of a loaded 9mm Glock 45 handgun with a defaced serial number from inside the vehicle. The operator of the vehicle, later identified as the suspect, was then placed in custody on scene without incident.

The suspect will appear in Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device and Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number.

In 2018 Passley was arrested in Brockton on charges of armed robbery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a dangerous weapon at the age of 15. Sources tell us these aren’t his only two run-ins with law enforcement either.
