B-2 Detectives Recover Firearm and Arrest One in Connection to Shooting

On Saturday Feb 19, 2022 officers were alerted to the area of 321 Seaver Street where ballistic evidence was recovered. As part of a follow up investigation, B-2 detectives were able to secure video evidence that depicted a motor vehicle with connections to the same area.

On February 20th, Area B2 detectives observed the same vehicle traveling on Blue Hill Avenue and did observe the operator making a motion toward the front passenger compartment. Officers stopped the vehicle and the operator –later identified as Lakeem Bennett, 29 of Boston, fled on foot. Bennett was eventually apprehended without further incident.

On February 23, 2022 B2 detectives secured and executed a search warrant of the motor vehicle and recovered a 9m semi-automatic pistol.
