Officers Recover a Loaded Firearm After a Traffic Stop in Dorchester

At about 6:43 PM, on Monday, March 28, 2022 officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force, made an onsite firearm arrest of Antonio Garcia-Rivera, 21, of Roxbury while in the area of Brook Avenue and W Cottage Street in Dorchester.

While on patrol, officers, along with Massachusetts State Police, observed a motor vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign. Officers initiated the traffic stop and spoke with the driver, later identified as Garcia-Rivera.

After further investigation it was revealed that Garcia-Rivera was in possession of a loaded firearm which was located in the center console. The firearm was determined to be a P80 Ghost Gun with a Glock upper and was loaded with one round in the chamber and fourteen rounds in the magazine.

Garcia-Rivera was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
