Resident of Meth Mile Struck By Car Atfter Nodding-Out into Oncoming Traffic

On Thursday, April 21, 2022 at approximately 22:00 hours, Boston Police Officers from District C-6 responded alongside Boston EMS to the area of Mass Ave & Cass Blvd for reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. The female, who was  identified as a “resident” of Methadone Mile, was struck after reportedly nodding out into oncoming traffic.

Witnesses on scene stated that she appeared severely impaired, and may have been under the influence of an unknown substance. At the time she was struck, it appears she stepped off the curb onto incoming traffic. The woman suffered serious injuries, however she is expected to survive. She was taken by Boston EMTs to a local area hospital.

Given the evidence and witness statements, the driver, who stayed on scene, was released after providing identification and being interviewed.
