Officers from District A-1 and A-15 Arrest Armed Robbery Suspect in Charlestown

At about 5:35 PM, on Monday, March 28, 2022 officers assigned to District A-15 (Charlestown), responded to 10 Thompson Square (Charlestown Liquors) for a report of a panic alarm, which was upgraded to a person with a gun.

On arrival, officers were informed that the suspect who had robbed the store, at gunpoint, on March 10, 2022 was observed walking in the area. Officers on scene broadcast a description of the suspect and the direction in which the suspect was walking. The suspect was located, stopped, and positively identified in the area of Main and Pleasant Streets.  Police arrested Tobi Mirdik, 47, of Charlestown. The suspect was found to be in possession of a knife at the time of the arrest. 

Mirdik is expected to be arraigned in the Charlestown District Court and charged with Armed Robbery and Carrying a Dangerous Weapon.
