At about 12:33 am on Friday, April 1, 2022 Officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury/Dorchester) made an onsite firearm arrest of Kevin Perez, 22, of Dorchester, in the area of Columbia Road and Annabel Street.

Officers were on directed patrol in the area of Upham’s Corner, when they observed a vehicle speeding and with excessive tint. A CJIS query of the vehicle revealed that the registration was revoked. Officers conducted a traffic stop at the above location and spoke with the operator of the vehicle, Kevin Perez. Through several on-scene observations, Officers determined that Perez may be in possession of a firearm. Officers were able to recover a loaded firearm from Perez and placed him into custody without incident.


The firearm was determined to be a Glock .45 caliber, loaded with thirteen (13) rounds of ammunition in the magazine. Perez is to be charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a large capacity feeding device, and carrying a firearm without a license. Perez is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
